Nuala is the Superintendent Pharmacist owner of Glengarriff Pharmacy and grew up in Drimoleague, Co. Cork.
Nuala Carey obtained her Honours Master of Pharmacy degree from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen in July 2006. She went on to study her pre-reg year in Aberdeen, before returning to Cork to work as a pharmacist. Working in Cork and Coachford for 3 years after returning to Ireland, Nuala opened Glengarriff Pharmacy in July 2010.
Nuala was a finalist for Superintendent Pharmacist of the Year in 2016 and 2017, and was the winner of Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur for Best Established Business Cork North and West in 2016.
Nuala has a keen interest in fitness, heart health, and as a mum of 3 young children, is especially interested in children’s health also.
Nuala launched her pharmacist blog in July 2017, which serves as an information source for all health related topics of interest and common healthcare queries
Philip hails from the Parish of Fethard in South Tipperary. From a farming background he now lives in West Cork where he is married with a wife and family.
Philip received his M.Pharm from Sunderland University and is currently doing locum work in Community Pharmacies. He has a special interest in the management of hypertension and type II diabetes. Philip is a keen walker, part-time gardener and likes to work with stone.
Clianadh is the youngest member of our team. From Adrigole, Co. Cork. She graduated from the Cork College of Commerce in 2015 with an ITEC & CIDESCO Diploma in Beauty Therapy.
Clianadh is constantly furthering her knowledge and skills and has completed an Astonishing Nails -nail extension course with Divine Digits in 2016, and the IPU Counter Assistant Course in 2016.
She is especially interested in nail extensions, waxing and skincare. In her spare time enjoys walking and socialising with her friends
Oonagh was born and grew up in Kerry Pike, just outside Cork City. She holds a CIBTIC Diploma in Beauty Therapy and qualified from the College of Commerce in 2008. She has worked with Boots Pharmacy as Beauty Manager for 7 years and Brown Thomas as a Beauty Consultant for 2 years, before Joining Glengarriff Pharmacy & Beauty Rooms in April 2013.
She has also completed a number of make up courses including;

In a voluntary capacity Oonagh has worked with the Wig Clinic in Cork who specialise in wigs for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Here, over the course of two years, she ran several workshops/demonstrations on skin care and make up.
Oonagh’s special interests include make up, skin care, waxing and OTC medicines.
The mother of two young children her general interests and hobbies involve spending time with her family, running and attending various exercise classes. Outside of work Oonagh has a very keen interest in fashion, make up and skin care and spends a lot of time researching the latest trends to keep her customers up to date
Tara is a native of Glengarriff. She completed a biochemistry degree in UCC in 2016 and is now studying Medicine in UL and began working in the Pharmacy in 2016.
Tara’s favourite aspect of working in the pharmacy is dispensing over the counter medications and advice. She also enjoys meeting and helping the customers, however she can.
Her other hobbies include running in Glengarriff woods, babysitting her niece and looking after her family’s 4 dogs
Sorcha hails from Bantry, Co. Cork and joined Glengarriff Pharmacy in August 2010 as a Medicines Counter Assistant. She is currently completing Year 1 of her IPU Pharmacy Technicians course. She has a background in retail marketing and studied at DIT, Mountjoy Square, Dublin. Realising it wasn’t her passion, she moved to Cork city to train and work as a care assistant in the Mercy Hospital for three years, in both the male and female surgical units. Following this, Sorcha worked in a private nursing home in Clonakilty.
Qualified in therapeutic massage, deep tissue & sports massage, and neuromuscular technique, she trained at the Natural Healing Centre in Cork and the National Training Centre in Dublin. She has over 10 years experience in mindfulness and metta meditation.
A serial cake eater who loves coffee in the morning whilst dancing around to Bruno Mars.
She loves the water and goes kayaking and swimming. Recently started to teach herself guitar (thanks to YouTube), passionate about music and, regularly attends gigs with family and friends
